The second build changed the questions.
A second build with more knowledge
The previous version taught me what to change.
I had already designed and developed RSG website iterations. The January 2025 application made the next challenge clear: the data structure had grown heavy, the analytics-led interface was difficult to adapt, and the project had begun while Payload v3 was still in beta.
I treated that experience as evidence for a rebuild, not as a reason to discard the visual ambition of the work.
Visual character, practical structure
Expressive on screen. Deliberate underneath.
The new interface kept RSG’s dark, cinematic visual language, orange accents, and spatial storytelling. Beneath it, I moved toward TypeScript-backed structured content, reusable blocks, nested layouts, and variations.
That combination made the experience more adaptable to new stories and new services.
Make technical work engaging.
I used type, motion, depth, and focused editorial panels to make RSG’s technical subject matter approachable.
Make the site easier to shape.
The presentation demonstrated live preview, image tools, SEO controls, forms, redirects, and custom styling as part of the publishing experience.
Make ownership discussable.
I mapped the GitHub, Coolify, Postgres, and MinIO setup and outlined migration options toward RSG’s Azure environment.
Iteration is the evidence
The difference is more than a new surface.
Comparing the earlier website with the rebuild made the design process visible. I could show what stayed true to the brand, and what changed in the content and interaction model.

Infrastructure and migration considered as part of the design work.
The second build could be better because the first one had taught me where to look.
